Importance Of Families

The importance of families is something that is near to my heart. Growing up and still now my family is very close. My siblings are my best friends and my parents are as well. Family are people who support you, love you unconditionally, keep you safe, provide for you, and help you be happy. As a family member you do the same for your family. This week in class we talked about the importance and benefits of families who consist of a biological mother and biological Father to their children. In terms of drug and alcohol abuse, criminal activity, violence, education, and future relationships, children from these families are consistently in better places then children in other home situations. They have better lasting relationships themselves and earn better education. Mothers and Fathers who raise their children to a supportive loving environment give their children better chances. This source from the Family Structure Studies gives information on how different families effect their children late in life. This image is a screenshot of the arrest averages of children from these different families. Families are so important and its crucial for us to protect the family as central to our health and our future children's lives.
